Phish

Phish is a band that formed in Vermont in 1983. The band members that started the band were Trey Anastasio, Jon Fishman, Mike Gordon, and Jeff Holdsworth. Jeff Holdsworth eventually left the band to do his own thing, and Page McConnell joined the band in 1985.

The band ran its course, going on hiatus from October 7, 2000 [+] until December 31, 2002 [+], then breaking up in 2004 following the Coventry festival in Vermont. Since then, up to 3 of the 4 band members have shared the stage at any given time, but all 4 have not played together. As Trey said in his statement, "We're done." And for now, it appears they are.

On October 1, 2008, Phish announced that they will be playing 3 shows at Hampton Coliseum on March 6th, 7th & 8th, 2009. Other than a [appearance] at Brad Sands' wedding in August of 2008, this will be their first performance together since Coventry. As part of the announcement, the band mentioned that there will be additional tour dates for 2009 announced early in the year.
